This family are such good sports. We shot pictures on a Sunday afternoon that I was to have 3 sessions and 2 cancelled due to the very cold rainy dreary day. The Van Dalen family kept their slot and I'm so thankful that they did. While it was indeed freezing cold to us central California people, the overcast lighting and beautiful faces made it so worth it. Sara, I hope you and your wonderful and easy kids enjoy the pictures. Thanks again for being willing to tough it out with the weather, it truly was a pleasure to photograph you all!

I have to say, I really do love weddings. The best weddings tend to be those that are all about the couple and not so focused on the details trying to make everything perfect. The Russells wedding was just that - a nice simple familiy wedding held in their own backyard. It was such a joy to see a couple who obviously really enjoy being together and sharing their lives with thier friends. Robert & Elizabeth thank you for letting me being such an important part to the start of your life together. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them - which is quite a lot!

I LOVE babies! Especially fun, is the anticipation of babies! Kevin and Mya didn't have to wait long for their sweet baby boy Caleb to be born after this photoshoot in August, but unfortunately they did have to wait for me to post their pictures. Chop it up to my crazy summer and life with 3 kiddos! Regardless, I have the priviledge of finally sharing this seriously beautiful family! Enjoy!

Sweet little Ian is only a month older than my youngest little one and was such a joy to photograph! I think it's hard to tell that's he's loved. ;) (wink, wink) It was great to work with such an easy family. Timing was great, happy kid, happy parents and happy grandparents. I've been photographing this sweet young lady for quite a while, since she was 3 at least, I think. It's been fun to watch her grow into the young lady she is today. My sweet little regulars each reach a milestone for their young ages. Ashlyn turned 3 years old in February and Austin turned 9 months. It truly is amazing how fast time flies especially when you don't see little ones every day. As always, the Brown family was a treat to photograph and spend time with. This time we tried somewhere new and headed out to the Fresno Science Center. A definite location to go back to!

I truly love taking pictures of families, especially for special occasions. While this gathering wasn't for a birthday or anniversary, it was a special occasion as it had been quite a long time since the whole family had pictures taken together due to distance and military deployments. It was my honor to document this time in the Plummer family lives.

What made it even more fun for me is that I've known Amanda since junior high and her husband, Brian, since high school. We reconnected on Facebook where I love getting the chance to catch up with old friends and see the beautiful families they've created.

A definite must to grab pictures of all the grandkids together!

The boys thought they'd try to work together to investigate under the sidewalk. While they weren't quite strong enough it was a great effort and adorable use of cousin team work.

As always, I have fun with this family. This November we squeezed in a really fast lunch session in order to work around everyone schedules. I especially love how Michelle dressed Mikayla and Madeline in matching outfits. I can't wait to do that with my two girls once Hannah is born! This lovely family has been waiting longer than I like for their pictures. I'm definitely finding that a third pregnancy slows you down more than the others. Either that or the other kids and life have just wore me down more this time! Elle turns 5!!!

Every time I see Elle she is more and more beautiful. Sweet eyes, gorgeous curls and a smile that would light up a room. For Elle's 5 year old pictures we thought we'd head out to the wonderful flower field I've been loving this spring. Unfortunately due to scheduling issues we didn't get out for our photo-shoot until mid May and by this time there had been a few warm spells that dried up nearly all the flowers. Elle was a good sport though and aside from a few stickers in her dress I think we still managed to get some great fun shots! Thanks Elle and Dawnmarie for putting up with the less than stellar conditions and waiting so patiently for these pictures. Enjoy!

Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Kara and Jeff's wedding. Kara and Jeff were some of the most laid-back easygoing couples I've met. It was a treat to work with them.

As easy as they were to work with, their friends were almost even easier and were very good sports! I loved the "Superman" fun they added to their attire.

In honor of Mother's Day, I had to throw in a sweet mother/daughter moment!

Kraft Family

It's such a pleasure that the Kraft family has become "regulars"! I'm LOVING the opportunity to see Colson and Carridy grow. For this session, we met the day before Easter in my favorite field to take advantage of Spring.

Even with a bit of wind and quick impromptu session scheduling we managed to get wonderful shots. Easy to do with this family, just look at how much they love eachother!

Colson turned 3 earlier this year and is growing into a wonderful big brother.

Here's a little Faith

I'm so glad that this lovely family had faith in my photography that they hired me for a session during my recent Las Vegas vacation. We went out to the Lake Las Vegas area where there were beautiful shops and garden areas. A new area for me to explore during my Vegas visits to see my sister and brother-in-law. Definitely an area I'd use again.

And really with an adorable little girl like this, how could pictures go wrong? And in actuality, this is their "Faith". A bubbly and energetic 2 year old!

Spring has Sprung!!

I LOVE when spring daylight savings time comes and when the weather changes enough to let wildflowers bloom. Out here in CA we get the early opportunity to play longer outside, enjoy time with friends and neighbors and relish in all spring has to offer. This time of year specifically brought me the great opportunity to enjoy a session with Ashlyn for her TWO year pictures! Wow, two years already! She's growing into a sweet and independent little girl who is getting ready for the arrival of her little brother in May. The setting we chose for this session was wonderful! I have the Mills family to thank for it!

Ashlyn's mom made the tutu - I think it turned out fabulous!

This poor family has been so patient in waiting for thier pictures. I finished them a month or so ago, but got caught up with life's craziness and forgot to blog them. Good thing I've known Mom and Dad since 7th grade so they're a bit more than understanding. Regardless, I really want to share this sweet family with you.

Let's start with the boys. Full of good sports, big brothers Jacob & Jared put up with all my poses. Littlest brother Daniel had a blast just running around Fresno State.

This family has had a rough year to say the least. What I love though, is that through it all they are working together through trials and below is the result. Wonderful togetherness. Especially special because just weeks after these pictures, Dad had to report out of state for military duty and may be getting deployed back overseas.

One of my favorite things to try to do at a photosession is to grab unexpected moments. I especially love this one below.

My most recent session had me being an "on-call" photographer. First we had to keep our fingers crossed that Miss Carridy would decide to come into this world in time for holiday pictures. Then we had to contend with Mother Nature who nearly decided to rain us out. Thankfully things were on our side and Miss Carridy came in plenty of time to grace me with her beauty and Mother Nature held off raining Sunday morning just long enough for some fun family photos!

Some of you may recognize this lovely family. You could find them here, and here. When I first started taking thier pictures it was just of the little guy, "Peanut". Next I got to photograph big brother and sister for some fun sibling shot. Finally this time around I got to "torture" Mom and Dad and take full family pictures! For a change of scenery we headed out to Woodward Park for a lovely fall day.

Just had to take pictures of these two by themselves. It's always fun to photograph couples, even if they are reluctant to do kissy pictures for me. ;)

The Stephanian's are indeed all about family. I had the fabulous pleasure of taking pictures at their home in the country. Gorgeous Victorian home with a porch swing (!!!) and a fun family, can it get much better?

We took full advantage of having grandparents join us too, proving that even though we get older, we'll always be our parents little boy or girl. Just check out this sweet father daughter combo.

Can't leave out the boys. Something tells me that they can cause a lot of trouble together!

Then you've got Mom's parents, who I've known since I was in grade school.

Nothing much sweeter, than 3 generations of ladies.

Since I grew up in the country, I had to chuckle at the kids who weren't too sure about sitting or laying on the ground in the orchard. they were good sports though and I hope they see that it was worth the extra leaves in their hair!

Big brother Jared, who is in high school, was kind enough to let me torture him with the camera for a bit.

He has to be a good sport with younger siblings, especially twins!

Ashlynn turns 18 months!

I can hardly believe that Ashlynn is 18 months old! She continues to grow into such a beautiful little girl. It's crazy to see how she has definitely lost that "baby" look and is ALL toddler!

This time we met up at one of my favorite local parks. This really gave us a chance to catch those fun toddler expressions and happiness.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of finally meeting Cat and her sister and mom for a photo session. Such sweet ladies! They have a big family full of boys and had never had the chance to get pictures of just the girls. I can't stress enough how important it is to take pictures all the time. You never know what memories you may miss if you don't. Since mom is in her 80's the girls realized just how important it is.

We made sure to get a couple of each daughter with mom.

Mom was a good sport with all my photo locations.

I of course had to capture some sisterly love too. It's great when your best friend is your sister.

These ladies loved to laugh and were willing to have some fun which makes photo sessions so much more enjoyable.

Luke & Natalie

So I managed to step back in time and take this really cool picture of Natalie welcoming home her fiance, Luke, who is an Air National Guard pilot. Okay, not really, but still I did have fun taking engagement pictures for Natalie and Luke who really is a pilot.

My hubby went with me to second shoot and get me on base since he works out at the base with Luke. We had so much fun playing around the jets!

After having fun at the base and letting Luke get teased by only a few of the other guys out there that Saturday, we went to Woodward park for a few more "traditional" shots.

I have to say that Luke and Natalie are such a sweet romantic couple. Although this obviously wasn't the real proposal you wouldn't have guessed it by the constant smiles on their two faces!

Seriously, just look at those smiles! Beautiful!

In keeping things fair and becuase Luke & Natalie were such a fun couple to hang out with, we took some time to play at one of the playgrounds. Only fitting since Natalie is an elementary school teacher!

There are times when a photo session just goes perfectly. This was indeed one of those times! we stumbled across a lady setting up for a birthday party and just happened to have these fabulous balloons AND she was nice enough to let us borrow them. I'm really enjoying ballons in pictures these days!

Caleb

I've known Caleb's mom, Dawn, for a while now but never had the chance to hang out with Caleb. Caleb just turned 4 and is a boy that loves an adventure and loves to play. We met at Fresno State on a Friday evening to beat the heat and ended up with a lovely cooler evening session. We chased dragonflies, splashed in the sprinklers and played at the fountain. A perfect way to end the work week.

I love the soulfull innocent look here.

I love the sweetness of childhood play. They find such pleasure is such simple things as splashing in puddles. If only something so simple could make everyone happy!

Four is such a curious age. Caleb was no exception. He was so sweet wanting to share his findings with his parents.

Kayla & Emma

I had the recent pleasure of photographing two beautiful little girls. Kayla is almost 7 and Emma is 16 months. They were so much fun taking them around Fresno State. Both girls seemed to love everywhere we romped. Emma especially was the pro at blowing kisses!

And Kayla has such a sweet smile! Don't you agree?

I loved watching Emma watch Kayla. Having two kids myself, it's so fun watching the younger sibling idolize the older sibling.

Mom brought these adorable matching brightly colored outfits. The girls really hammed it up with the matching sunglasses.

We finished the session at the big fountain by the student union. The girls loved being able to splash their feet in the water and cool off. I especially loved the color of their dresses with the fountain tile and just love the look of the two of them dangling their sweet feet together.

The other evening when I took Celeste's "senior pictures" we managed to squeeze in a few family group sets as well as individual ones of Selena and Zeke. I'm so thankful that they put up with unusually humid weather as I think the session was well worth it! Just see for yourself.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Kraft family through mom, Ann-Marie. Ann-Marie is the Chairwoman of a church Mom's Group that holds monthly cafe nights that I try to attend. She is by far one of the sweetest and most genuine people I've met. Her boys are no exception. We met out at my usual favorite, Fresno State, and I got the chance to remember what fun 2 year old boys can be!

Colson sure kept me on my toes! He's all boy and loves an adventure!

Gotta love fruit snacks! When photographing youngsters they can be a life saver! Thanks Ann-Marie for being so prepared!

I finally had the chance to take my dear friend Michelle and her family out for a photo shoot. We wanted to make sure to capture their sweet family before the new addition. Michelle is expecting another baby girl at the end of June, who I can't wait to meet.

We started out in the orchards near the Fresno State campus. Don't you just love the blossoms!

That and Miss Mikayla's beautiful eyes!

It makes my heart flutter to see such happy in love couples. Especially when part of the couple is someone you've known since the 7th grade.

I love this sweet little face. She's going to be a great big sister!

Michelle's nickname in our group of friends is "Mother". She's truly grown her nickname. It's wonderful to see her be a true mother, to a daughter who loves her so.

And just as equally warming is the love a daughter shows her father.

It never ceases to amaze me how much things can change in a year. It seems like just yesterday I first met Elle and her mom at Fresno State for her 3 year portraits. Now she's 4 and all grown up - or at least in her mind. At least the rest of know that 4 is still so sweet and innocent. Just look at her, isn't she angelic?

And while poor Elle had to wait on me (I had a mental brain block on the appointment time) she was still a good sport and managed to "play" willingly for some great shots. I could easily understand her minor meltdown since we dragged to her a park on a gorgeous day and then told her that "no, she couldn't play with the other kids". I'm glad that the swings perked her up. That and getting to feed the ducks.

Ashlyn turns 1!

It doesn't seem that long ago that I was taking newborn pictures of Miss Ashlyn. It truly is amazing how fast a year goes by and how much babies change. Ashlyn is no longer a baby, she's on the verge of being a full fledge toddler! She started walking just in time for her 1st birthday and is still every bit the light in her family's day. I mean really who could resist this sweet face?

In honor of her birthday, her mom helped out and brought a wonderful bouquet of balloons. Can I tell you how much fun we had!! I think we all got our exercise for the day in just chasing her up and down the lawn at Fresno State. It was terrific!

I seriously can't resist parents and their kids! Ashyln is one loved little girl!

Schwan Family

Last month my wonderful neighbors got to spend a special day with their entire family! A rarity for sure to have everyone in town, I couldn't help but want to help them capture the moment. Unfortunately due to rainy weather we weren't able to add any of the outdoors to our picture background, but thankfully I now have a portable backdrop that I got to put to good use. They're quite a big group - but lots of fun!

The poor grandkids had a full day with a potluck most the afternoon, no nap and then we tired to do group pictures. Overall they were good sports and at least we got a picture of them with their grandparents, even if they were crying.

They're rather cute kids, so who could resist wanting a picture with them.

We took full advantage of the having everyone together that we did small family group shots too.

Thanks guys for putting up with so many pictures! I hope you enjoy them. I know I enjoyed spending the day with your wonderful family!

Rice Family

Recently I had the priviledge to photograph a very sweet family. The Rice family's main focus is on two sweet little boys whom my children hold especially dear. The oldest, Danny, is almost 4 and a favorite playmate to my son. The youngest, Grant is becoming quite the big boy and like my youngest has no fear and keeps right up with big brother! Lots of fun and love is this family!

I was so pleased that Grandma & Grandpa Rice let me take a couple pictures of just them. What a lovely couple, don't you think!

Gotta get some Mom & Dad love too!

Grant is almost 2 and full of spunk! There's nothing that's going to slow this little guy down!

Danny, is just a sweetheart. He's become quite the big helper and looks out for his best friend, his brother, Grant.

I had the opportunity to take pictures of a friend's sweet little newborn, Maxwell and I love every chance I can get to play with little ones. Max was just so calm and easy. He didn't mind being the star. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get over earlier than him turning nearly 3 weeks old, but the sweet little newborn yumminess was still just as great!

Just look at that sweet little face!

This is especially for Grandma Scales who has a special connection with Max's dad and bears! Plus, she made the blanket Max is wrapped in! Definitely a well loved little guy!

Better late than never, right? The nice thing about being related to me is free pictures. The bad thing is that because your family and have to like me, your pictures may get pushed aside for others on occassion. Unfortunately, for my sister, Anne and brother-in-law, Dave that happened with their pictures from our family beach trip this past August. I did actually finished these up a while ago, just never quite got them posted or put together completely for them. One problem was I just had too many to play with. I can't really help that they make great models that they make me want to keep taking pictures of them! Anyhow, enjoy!

Washington beaches are gorgeous. Colder than here in California, for sure, but gorgeous!

Just before Christmas I had the priviledge of meeting this wonderful family.

Can't you just feel how loved this sweet 2 year old is?

She's definitely well loved by all, especially her 6 older brothers and sisters. Aren't they a handsome bunch and so nice!

We made sure to get pictures of Dad with all his kids.

As well as one with Grandma & Great-Grandma!

Seriously, this bunch of siblings could easily be models, just look at those smiles!

I especially loved how the youngest two interacted. They adore eachother!

Ashlyn's Entourage

I've been enjoying taking Miss Ashlyn's pictures since she was born. I even did the wedding photography for her parents. This fall however, I got to take the whole family pictures. We had Grandma & Grandpa (who hardly look old enough to be grandparents!), mom, dad and uncle Kevin. Looking for fall colors and a variety of scenery, we headed out to the Fresno State campus for our morning session.

Uncle Kevin's girlfriend came along, so I had to catch a couple shots of this good looking couple.

Alyssa turns 2!

Alyssa is a typical lively (just turned) 2 year old. She's independent, makes adorable "cheese" faces, and has everyone appropriately wrapped around her finger. And with a sweet little face like hers who could resist.

About a month ago, I met up with her and her parents to take a couple quick pictures of her in a special velvet dress that a dear relative had given her.

Then almost 2 weeks ago I met with just Alyssa & her mom at one of their favorite hangouts. Alyssa was not shy about giving me a guided tour of her favorite features especially the water fountain.

Although it was her first jaunt into this particular shoe store, Alyssa, was not shy at all and found herself right at home with all the pretty shoes. I think Mom & Dad better watch out for those shoe bills down the road! She did a great job of charming the sales clerk, not to mention all people we passed walking around the shopping center.

Oh and by the way, she's a great little dancer!

Noah - The Rock Star!

I had the pleasure of adventuring downtown with this lovely young man, Noah. Mom wanted to get kind of a "rock star" look which I think between the clothes and the picture we did quite well. And with the use of a play guitar we had a lot of fun getting into the spirit!

Thanks Noah for putting up with so many pictures, but how could I help myself when I had a great subject to photograph!

I've found that downtown has so much to offer in the way of colors and backgrounds!

Who knows, maybe one day we'll see Noah on Broadway?

He's such a sweet kid. Who wouldn't just want to plaster this face all over?

We even took a quick drive over to the railroad tracks becuase who can resist a bit of vintage.

Jenn & Chris - Wedding

A month ago, almost exactly, October 18th, Jennifer and Chris finally got married! I say finally because they've been engaged for a while and everyone has been anxiously awaiting this wonderful wedding! One person in particular was their adorable little flower girl, who happens to be my daughter! The wedding was beautiful, with smiles that beamed all around. A happy day, gorgeous weather and a beautiful couple (inside & out!). What more could I ask for for someone I hold so dear! Congrats Jenn & Chris, we are SO happy for you!

With an October wedding, you never know quite what you are going to get. Jenn & Chris couldn't have been more blessed with wonderful blue skies and warm weather! It was my first time being at Holland Park West and I must say, it's a great place for weddings!

I LOVE the way Jennifer is looking at Chris! So happy!

Isn't Jennifer a stunningly beautiful bride? She literally beamed all day!

The ladies of the wedding party consisted of Jennifer's sister, soon to be sister-in-law, Jennifer's neice and my precocious 2 year old, Caitlyn. I must say, I was SO proud of my little flower girl. She posed exactly how I asked her and even managed to walk down the aisle!

The men of the wedding party consisted of Chris's two good friends, Jennifer's nephew and the best man's nephew. Such a handsome group of guys!

This is one of my favorites.

I loved how when I asked the bridal party to look at Jenn & Chris when they kissed, the sweet ring bearer immediately sheilded his eyes! Too cute!

Thanks again, Jenn & Chris, for the honor of photographing your wedding day. It was the least I could do for a lifelong friend!

Ross Family

Back in March, I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely family. However, back then I only took pictures of little Peanut. Two weeks ago, however, I had the pleasure of photographing all three siblings. Big brother, sister and little peanut were a joy to photograph. I didn't hear any complaints, even when I suggested standing in the fountain! And what an honor to take the first set of pictures with all three kids in it, since Mom said they hadn't done a pictures with all the kids together! I think they make a mighty fine bunch, don't you think?

As much as I've never really "liked" feet, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way these type of pictures look!

We made sure to do some individual shots too. Don't you love this "I'm a big kid" (even though I'm only 2) look!

Such an easy and fun loving family! Thank you Ross kids for putting up with all my poses and being good sports! I appreciate it and I'm sure your mom does too!

Ryan - 5 months!

Sweet little Ryan turned 5 months at the beginning of September. His poor parents have been waiting patiently for me to play catch up on pictures. It's a good thing his mom has known me since the 4th grade or they might have disowned me! Seriously, though, it was a pleasure to photograph this sweet little guy. For being a preemie he's sure filled out getting all the cute little baby chubs in all the right places!

It took a little bit, but he decided being in the sink wasn't so bad after all!

Jenn + Chris = LOVE

I am so happy for this beautiful couple! Not only is Jennifer one of my oldest and dearest friends (we've known eachother since first grade!) but she is also one of my daughter's godmothers. She and Chris are so well suited for eachother you would have sworn they've been married for years. It is this upcoming weekend however, that they are finally getting married. Their families and friends couldn't be happier!

I LOVE how happy they make eachother!

I can't wait for these two to have kids. They're both teachers and spoil all of our friend's kids as well as ours with books and fun toys for nearly every holiday! "Auntie" Jenn and "Uncle" Chris are certainly favorite people in our little ones lives. It will be a blast to do some spoiling in return! (hint, hint)

It's always a pleasure to visit and photograph families for a second time. In an effort to include Grandma & Grandpa in pictures this time, Harmony and her family opened up their home for our photo session in early September. What's really fun with family sessions at home, is it allows people to be more at ease and themselves. There's nothing like honest good family fun when the kids are relaxed and running around crazy! Seriously, I love trying to show a family for who they are; a great bunch of people that love eachother! I hope you see that in the pictures below!

I LOVE the wording Harmony and Bryce have above their bed. Little miss took a bit before she decided to join everyone on the bed. It's fun to be two and have the world wrapped around your finger!

Watch out it's the Raders!!

I love meeting new families. You never know what you're going to get and it's fun to see how diverse each one can be. The Rader's brought both laughter and seriousness and are as friendly as can be! Tom & Cari (better known as Mom & Dad/Grandma & Grandpa) are the type of couple that you admire. They're lively and easy going and full of love for their family as dysfunctional as they may claim it to be! And although my Vegas location wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be, I think we managed to make it work.

Don't let the calmness fool you, just look below it and you can see what trouble I had to put up with!

The only daughter in the family, Grayce, fits in quite well and certainly holds her own. She's a strong and well poised young lady with a smile that can light up a room.

Kai brought a new challenge to my photo skills. He's in a wheelchair. And while I thought that would make things fun, my real challenge was getting him to smile. He's not a happy guy at all, can't you tell!

Older brother, Chase and his sweet wife, Michelle, brought some of the seriousness. And while a smile really wasn't the easist to coax out of Chase, Michelle's warmth and their love were enough to make thier pictures shine!

Then there were the grandkids, sweet Revan and determined Exus. Both such well behaved and beautiful.

And while Exus takes after Dad and isn't quite the smiler, he makes up for it in his eyes. Aren't they stunning?

Thanks again, Raders, for putting up with being on the look out for fly away golf balls! Maybe next time we should go hang out with the flamingos afterall!

Family is truly one of life's greatest pleasures. Family is made of people you're born to love based on genetics but yet creating special connections for life. And while siblings may drift in and out of closeness they are always family and it's neat to see each other's roles change as you each grow older. That said, I've loved watching my brother grow into the wonderful father he is today. He and my sister-in-law, Kathie are so smitten with my nephew, Jakub and the impending arrival of his little brother just brings even more joy to their lives. So it was a great pleasure for me to do a family photo session for them during our family vacation in Washington this August.

Jakub is a fun silly little guy. He turned 2 in August and is a big boy now ready for an adventure. Having a daughter 3 months older than Jakub, I LOVE watching my brother endure life with a toddler! HeHe!

My brother is not usually one to endure picture taking for very long or with a good attitude, at least when his kid sister is involved. But... I was tickled that I did manage to get him to do at least one kissy picture for me! Thanks Kathie for the help and for putting up with my brother!

Jen & Her Boys

Over the 4th of July weekend in Vegas, I also had the priviledge of meeting another wonderful family. Jen and her boys were such a delight to hang out with. They were so easy to shoot - almost too easy! They posed were asked, no complaints, okay so maybe there was a wee bit of bribery involved, but overall they really were great. A family that really feels at ease with eachother and truly like hanging out with one another. I'd say they really fit the quote on the picture below.

We took pictures at a local park where we tried to have fun without melting in the hot summer heat too much. There were plenty of things to climb, explore and let loose for such a sprited young man. What was really fabulous was how he warmed up enough that by the end of our session he helped direct poses and where we should take pictures!

Fairies, Ants & A Picnic

My 4th of July morning was spent with a lovely young family frolicking in a meadow, chasing ants and sharing in a delightful picnic. I took the opportunity to meet this family of four during my weekend visit to my sister's home in Vegas. Surprisingly, there is a mountain area barely 45 minutes from Vegas that is reminiscent of Tahoe or even Shaver Lake area that I'm closer to.

While it took a little bit for the little ones to warm up to me, there was an obvious abundance of love present in this family with both little ones attached to Mom & Dad and yet loving the outdoors.

Sweet big brother, who's almost 4 was wiling to take a few moments out of exploring to flash me a smile and give a little "cheese". I just loved his sweet bright eyes!

After exploring in the rocky dry creek beads, we moved on to a beautiful meadow for more pictures and a picnic. It was there that sweet little sister turned into a fairy bedazzling the meadow with her cuteness!

There's no denying where the love flows from!

Family Fun at the Park

It isn't every day that I can do something for my dear friend, Anita. She lives in Arizona and we get blessed to see her maybe once a year. It's been over a year since we last saw her and even longer since we saw her kids, Lynae and Cody! So when I heard she was making a trip here to visit, I jumped at the opportunity to take family portraits for her. She's been a dear friend since 7th grade! Her kids are a joy to be with, full of energy and spunk! My two little ones had a ball playing with them at the local park.

Lynae is almost 7 and not only a bright thinker who can recite the alphabet backwards, but also a beautiful young lady.

Cody is turning 5 next month and all boy! While he's full of energy and would rather have played than pose for pictures, we managed to make some fun of it and got some great shots of his sweet little face.

He sure loves his mama!

There's not much better than piling up on Mom! Although getting to make silly faces sure is fun too!

Believe it or not, this was taken at the same park, not in a studio. I had a little fun with some of the afternoon sunlight.

And they don't like their mama either!

Their mom, Natalie, wanted to be sure to capture their great smiles for the dad for his birthday. He's a huge Michagan fan, hence the Michagan jerseys, which was a very cute idea! I think I managed to convey that these two are very happy kids. What do you think?

I found myself with a wonderful opportunity this past weekend. My sister, Anne, and brother-in-law, Dave, were in town for my daughter's 2nd birthday and had in the past complained about not having recent pictures of themselves. Ashlyn Turns 3 Months Already!

Wow! Has it really been that long already? It's crazy enough that my kids grow and change as fast as they do, but babies I photograph seem to grow even faster! Sweet Ashlyn, has the most adorable chubby cheeks, just too hard for anyone to resist. She was a really good sport about being propped up and posing for pictures, just taking it all in. I'm sure she's just itching to stand up and run from me and my camera calling out for me to catch her if I can. And I'll bet before I know it, in a blink of an eye, she will be!

All tuckered out. Being a model is really hard work!

Megan & Andrew

It's always an honor to photograph someones wedding. It's a privilege not taken likely as I'm affecting their memories that will be passed on through their future generations. It's an even higher honor to be asked by someone you know and love. Megan is a dear childhood friend of my sister. I practically watched her and her younger twin brothers grow up, in fact I babysat them on occasion. So the fact that she wanted me to photograph her wedding is a privilege I didn't take for granted. The day turned out beautiful. Simple, elegant and family oriented. I only hope I have captured even an ounce of how beautiful Megan was and how happy and in love she and Andrew are. I wish them all the best life has to offer!

Megan was one of the most relaxed brides I've ever met. She wanted simple and elegant and I think she got exactly that and more!

I'm a sucker for that first kiss!

The bridal party was a great easy to work with group. All about having fun and taking care of Megan and Andrew. What more could you ask for?

(Doesn't my sister look stunning? She was the Matron of Honor and is to the left of Megan next to the pole.)

We had a little bit of time to play with the guys for pictures and since the wedding was taking place at a golf course, we figured why not take in a round...

They behaved pretty well for me, even if they did try to run me over! HeHe!

All in all a beautiful spring wedding.

Introducing Ryan Ruffner!

The wait is over! Ryan has made his appearance into the world, April 11th. In actuality, Ryan came nearly 3 weeks early despite his parents and doctors attempts to keep him warm and snugly for a bit longer. He was too anxious to get meet his family who are all so smitten with him, I don't think he hardly has a chance to be put down. But since he came early, he deserves all the extra love they want to give him. He's really a little trooper by not making things too difficult on his first time parents instead just giving them just enough sleep to function and make sure they know who's boss!

In contrast to other newborn pictures I've done, he is such a tiny little thing. He didn't mind swaddling but there was no way he was going to put up with being naked for pictures. That's okay since I didn't have the heart to torture too bad, especially considering that I'd love to keep taking pictures of his sweet little face!

So without further ado, please meet Mr. Ryan Ruffner!

It's an amazing thing being pregnant and anticipating the birth of your first child. What's almost even more amazing is watching your friends experience the joy of anticipation. I had the pleasure of taking maternity pictures for Karen, who has been a friend of mine since the fourth grade! Talk about sharing history together. It will be fun sharing stories with Ryan about his mom when she was young! Yeah, you bet Karen, us girls don't plan on holding back! I guess it's lucky for you that we were pretty good kids, huh! (wink, wink!)
